"Hometown Story", 1951, Starring Jeffery Lynn, Donald Crisp and Alan Hale. Not a big role, Marilyn plays a secretary at a small hometown newspaper in this B-film. It is most memorable for nostalgia buffs today because Alan Hale, TV's Skipper on "Gilligan's Island" has a scene with Marilyn. (The Ginger character in that TV show was an M.M. impersonation by Tina Louise). In 1950 Marilyn was also in a brief spectator scene with Mickey Rooney in "Fireball", another B-film, and was wearing exactly the same outfit seen here. |
